BLOCK ROCK is a permeable stabilisation geo-grid, resistant to frost, for use with gravel and pebbles for garden paths, pedestrian walkways, domestic driveways, parking slots, terraces and various other areas for games, picnics, relaxation or recreational activities and staging.

Thanks to its highly containing honeycomb structure for gravel and pebbles and to the layer of high-strength calandered geotextile fabric, rainwater can be absorbed more evenly by the ground, ensuring uniform drainage management and a stable and safe surface for pedestrians and vehicles.

BLOCK ROCK is available in Light Grey in handy Boxed Mini Packs for smaller installations, or in Pallet lots in a variety of sizes for larger projects.

BLOCKROCK-MINI-3       1000 x 600 x 30 mm  - 3 pack -  covers 1.8m²

Installation

INSTALLATION GUIDE – NEW SURFACE

  1. Preparation: Dig and level the area for the sub-base, leaving an extra 10mm for a layer of sharp sand or gravel, 30mm for the grid depth, and 20mm for the gravel topping.
  2. Bedding Layer: Spread a 5-10mm layer of sharp sand over the sub-base and compact it to eliminate minor undulations. This also protects the underside of the grid.
  3. Grid Installation: Begin installing BLOCK ROCK panels from one corner, ensuring the geotextile membrane side faces downward. Trim the panels as necessary using a suitable saw.
  4. Filling: Fill the grid with your chosen aggregate, with a diameter size of 4-12mm. If laying for a driveway, we recommend filling with harder aggregates such as granite.
  5. Completion: Cover the top of BLOCK ROCK with 20mm of gravel, which will make the grid virtually invisible.

INSTALLATION GUIDE – EXISTING SURFACE

To install BLOCK ROCK over an existing gravel, tarmac, or concrete surface:

  1. Clear the Area: Remove any weeds or loose material.
  2. Surface Repair: Repair any dips or potholes using a suitable subbase material, then compact the surface with a roller. For tarmac or concrete, consider drilling drainage holes for water to soakaway.
  3. Bedding Layer: Follow the same steps as for new surfaces.
  4. Grid Installation & Filling: As with new surfaces, install the BLOCK ROCK panels, fill with aggregate, and cover with a 20mm gravel layer.
